Yokoblivion

I've been a little bit more than negative recently.
I even told my friends that I'm ok with people saying that 2012 will be the end of the world.
I'm not obsessed by the Mayan prediction,I'm just saying,I'm ok with whatever people say.

I'm not going to kill myself ,cos I consider my life as a treasured gift from God.
I don't have the right to end it until God wants me to.

The worst thing,may never be the natural disasters as what is in the movie 2012.
For me personally is the lack of motivations.
In a couple of days,I'll fulfill the last wish in my life so far.
I'm indeed grateful,to that God makes all my wishes come true.

I was joking that God is spoiling me.
But he actually made all my wishes,even the tiny details come true.

When I was in Switzerland,I wanted to live in both Lausanne and Bern,they're the most beautiful cities in the world for me.
And as I moved away from Paris months ago,I began to miss Paris like hell.
I wanted to have normal college life,and I was thinking that art history would be my first choice if I ever could. Hedi Slimane is one of the first few guys who actually inspired me of this idea. I have to say he's real good,as all the courses in Ecole du Louvre are quite hard and vast.
And guess what?
I found,well,personally, Rennes,the city where I'm living now,is a perfect combination of the 3 cities above,Lausanne,Bern and Paris.(I actually discovered the streets behind the Republique Square is something like a mix of St.Paul and St.Michel in Paris.)
And I am studying in a very great college here,and I am studying art history.
I had a wonderful life.

The Korean model Daul Kim's found dead at home.
I just saw her a few months ago,with a friend,in Paris.
She's special,and adorably talented.
She's beautiful,outstanding,and crazy.

What can I say?
Rest in peace,and,she's not the first who died from depression and pressure,and she's not the last either.

The fashion world is mentally and physically sick.
One of the reasons why we love it.

We cry for the dead.
We actually do.

And one day hopefully we hear other people crying for our own death.

Shall we,just love our lives,a lil' bit more than we do now.

I had no idea that how far I could go.
I have to say that God is really treating me well.

No matter antique architecture or contemporary art,I have to say,God made my wish come true---I wished that I'd have normal college life just as everyone else has.
And,this is only one of the massive wishes I had.

I'm somehow against some certain artists.
It's fraud for me.
Such as...John Cage, Yoko Ono.
Yeah, I don't have to have a fetish for this crazy woman just because my name is also Yoko.
I mean what kind of crap noise she was making with her throat?
And John Cage,one of the most ridiculous ''artist?'' I have ever seen,I have a huge question mark flying in my mind when calling him ''artist''.
I respect different sorts of artwork, but these people have never crossed my mind,cos I have never really admitted that what they are doing is art.
And,moreover,a huge pale canvas with a small black circle in the middle, isn't it humiliating for people who came to visit the gallery.
 Art is never that untasteful. So it's never necessary to make it that ordinary to appeal certain crowds. Multimedia and multi resources are good ideas for creation,but if you go too far it's just ridiculous and dumb.
I've seen a video introducing and interviewing those so-called artists, a woman pounding piano strings like a moron, I thought it was a documentary of a madhouse. I can't believe that there're people who are actually making a lot of money with that.
FRAUD.

Am I getting grumpy because of the lack of sugar..?

Take a look at Giotto, Medicis or Donatello,those grand Italian artists, or Edvard Munch,Picasso,Da Vinci, why it's so hard to have some real good artists nowadays?

Anyway, I'm kind of really looking forward to a very special and crazy dinner in a couple of days.
The detox is going so far so well.
The coming shooting in L.A is on the way.
And I'll be able to watch Criminal Minds tomorrow.
Oh yea~the smoking hot Shemar moore.
I'd rather watch soap operas than going to the absurd concert of 4'33''.
And I feel real shameful that I have to know John Cage only because he did some stupid deeds to shock the fragile and emotional world,and as I'm studying art history now..including Marcel Duchamp,who is a lot better but still sucks..

Edvard Munch (1853-1944)
Et son auto portrait-Le Vagabond de la nuit

Edvard Munch est considéré comme l’artiste le plus connu en Norvège.
Il est né le décembre 1853 à Loten, Norvège.L'année suivante, sa famille déménage à Oslo, qui s’appelait à l'époque Christiania.

Son père, Christian Munch est un médecin militaire religieux, aux revenus modestes. Sa mère Laura Catherine,qui est plus jeune de 20ans (son père), meurt de la tuberculose alors qu'Edvard Munch n'a que cinq ans. En Suite Sa soeur Sofie meurt POUR la même raison en 1877.

Les enfants de la famille Munch ont plus ou moins un talent exceptionnel pour l’art grâce à Laura Catherine, qui avait eu une bonne éducation artistique dans sa jeunesse.

Munch a fait une année d’études dans une l'école technique avant de se consacrer très sérieusement à l'art. Il a quitté cette école en 1880. L'année suivante, Munch est entré dans l'école royale de dessin à Christiania (Oslo).Le premier auto portrait de Munch a été fait de cette année là ,sur la touche assez délicate, soignée et académique, Munch est bien coiffé et habillé, on voit la passion de l'art et les efforts d'un jeune homme portant une grande ambition.

Pourtant, à partir de cette époque, les premiers auto portraits suivants de Munch sont toujours dans un cadre flou et discret, plus ou moins sombre, dont il y a aussi la tristesse, soient les contours très flous et qui fusionnent avec le décor, soient le contour de la figure entière apparue assez claire mais pourtant éloignée. L'imagination est nourrie par un côté obscur et distant. Par exemple, celui nommé comme la nuit à St. Cloud.

Vers1885 Munch est parti à Paris, ses peintures étaient très influencées par les artistes français.Il s'inspira tout d'abord de L'impressionnisme, puis du post-impressionnisme, et enfin de l'art nouveau.
Le style de Munch a donc beaucoup changé entre temps.
Dans les années 1880, Munch a réalisé dans le cadre du Naturalisme, le portrait d'Hans Jaeger（un écrivant assez connu en Norvège）, à partir de l'année1892, il commence à créer son propre style original mélangé avec des différentes sources, comme la mélancolie, ainsi les couleurs deviennent un symbole, donc un élément qui soutient les émotions, évidemment Le Cri,qui est probablement le succès le plus important de Munch.
Les thèmes apparaissent en gros comme le symbolisme qui exposaient beaucoup les sentiments et émotions profondes, pourtant Munch utilise plutôt le post-impressionnisme pour réaliser ses peintures. Il se consacre beaucoup plus à la stylique du monde mental intérieur que dans le monde réel.
De 1903 à 1906, les auto portraits de Munch ont beaucoup changés,les couleurs deviennent assez claires, et aussi il commence de plus en plus à ajouter des objets, même des personnages autour de lui,en même temps le contour devient plus net et précis.

En 1903 Munch est devenu un membre du cercle international des littéraires, des artistes et des intellectuels où les scandinaves étaient fortement représentés lorsqu'il est venu à Berlin pour présenter le fruit de ses œuvres fait en France.
Après son séjour en Allemagne jusqu'en automne 1908, Munch a commencé à recevoir un traitement pour des soucis mentaux dans la clinique de Dr Daniel Jacobsen.

Après son traitement, les oeuvres portent sue des sujets positifs apparaissent plus souvent chez Munch. Mais sur ses auto portraits lors de la décennie de 1916 à 1926, les peintures montrent bien qu'il est tourmenté par la peur et l'anxiété, les traits assez illisibles,les couleurs peureuses, et des expressions assez perdus,évidemment il ne pourrait jamais sortir de son monde malade,compliqué,dépressive et misérable! Il se regard comme un malade, un fou.

À parti de cette période jusqu'à son décès, le style de son auto portrait redevient plus calme, son visage est plus relâché, il a même insisté pour peindre pendant son souci avec les yeux vers 1930,après toutes les tragédies de sa famille et une vie mouvementée et dramatique, il envisage la mort en paix.

Edvard Munch est donc décédé à Ekely, en Norvège le 23 janvier 1944. Il lègue environ un millier de tableaux, 4500 dessins et aquarelles et six sculptures à la ville d'Oslo, qui construit en son honneur le Musée Munch à Toyen.

Dans cet auto portrait -le vagabond de la nuit de Munch créée entre 1923 et 1924, il révèle des côtés de sa vie que la plupart des gens veulent cacher: l'anxiété et l'agitation à la suite d’une trop longue solitude. Les fenêtres sans rideaux et la chambre nue soulignent le sentiment de solitude et d'isolement.

La couleur et la touche de cette peinture sont assez négligées et illisibles, ce qui montre bien la complexité de l'univers de Munch, obscur, compliqué, c'est le côté négatif d'une personne, violent, également peureux,l’envie de se cacher dans une chambre,le clair de lune reflète sur les pieds de piano,les cheveux de Munch sont bien désordonnés, sous l'ombre ses yeux fusionnent avec la nuit. Comme les autres auto portraits à cette époque,le dos est toujours plus ou moins courbé et tordu, le sujet est assez négative et sombre, il subit de ses histoires tristes avec sa famille, il est plus obscur que la nuit, isolé de son entourage, peu importe le calme ou le bruit, il vit dans son univers à lui, qui est composé de solitude de froideur et surtout de silence.
.Le contour du visage n'est pas assez délicat, mais bien figuré pour définir l'expression du personnage. C'est un homme méchant, pourtant impuissant, Munch nous laisse un grand espace dans l'imagination de cet auto portrait, il erre dans cette chambre si calme et sombre dans la nuit, avec la bouche serrement fermée, l'air s'arrête de circuler, le temps s’arrête de couler, la douleur et l'anxiété ne font qu’une. Même si on voit mal ses yeux,on lit dans son regard hideux un mélange de douleur et de désespoir, c'est un univers imaginé par Munch, mais pour lui-même, rien n'est plus réel que ceci, ce sont des sentiments qui le hantent sans arrêt tous les jours, ce sont des émotions que Munch respire et subit.

Il lutte par des efforts, mais il ne pouvait pourtant rien changé, l'ombre à cause de la mort de l'un après l'autre de sa famille,les cauchemars de l'amour: l'histoire tragique avec son amoureuse, Tulla Larsen, il se sentait très impuissant et faible, peu importe le succès et la réputation qu'il obtenait, il veut s'échapper de ce monde cruel mais réel, donc il expose tous ses sentiments négatifs et tristes dans ses oeuvres,surtout dans ses auto portraits.

Il essaye de s'approcher du coin pour se cacher, l’air inquiet, cet homme vit pleinement dans son monde entre ses peintures et le monde réel. Mais parallelement il cherche un endroit où se réfugier, un endroit où il se sent plus en sécurité. Malgré quelques belles années mais relativement courtes dans sa vie, les controverses de sa carrière, l'amour échoué, les problèmes spirituels et psychologiques le poussent à bout, la mort successif dans la famille la violence de son père et sa mort au final, tous restent de gros problèmes pour Munch.

Lorsqu'il commence à peindre cet auto portrait, Munch a déjà 70 ans, il s'est rendu compte qu’il lui reste peu de temps, ses anciens souvenirs le hantent toujours, et il ne pouvait extraire toutes ces douleurs qu’il expose dans ses peintures, comme dans ses auto portraits,un miroir reflète son univers interne.

Stephen is one of my favorite movie guy,personally...cos indeed I'm no movie person!
I have so many friends who work in the area of cinema,theater,opera and so on,the reason why I like Stephen came not coincidently.
For most of the people who know him,he's the legendary director of Billie Elliot and the latest Oscar winner The reader,but for me he's a nice guy with sweet smile,considerate,interesting and who has a special interest in the Chinese Cultural Revolution Art and who is a big smoker never with matches or lighters.
I met him with Cassandra,a movie producer in L.A. during a movie festival.

Ｉ do miss those moments,when we were in Bar Rouge drinking Mojito,he was so surprised about my age. And when we were attending the Italian Party in Dolce Vita,when we were in the Gallery of Mao,when we were in the Yu Garden,and when we were at the Q&A for his movie,he gave me his camera and asked me to take photos for him, the last time I met him was during the closing ceremony of that festival at M1nt with many other movie people.etc.

I recently read an article about him,he said---
"I refuse to be boxed in to the idea that 'Oh, no, I can't have kids 'cause I'm gay'…Do I have sex with my wife? Yes. Is it a real marriage? Yes. Am I gay? Yes."

This is special though.
I have to say that I like him a lot mostly cos he's gay,as I'm probably the so-called fag hag,95% of my male friends in Paris are gays.

At that time,every day when we said bye,he'll give me a French bisous on the cheek,how sweet!
I remember keeping telling Stephen's guide that: oh Mr.Director is so cute!
And now I have to say...everything comes for a reason.
Yes,I love my gay friends,they're the best--Interesting,humorous,considerate,romantic,creative,and they make me feel comfortable.

I've been always taking an active participation in charity work.
I focused on children's education development since 3 or 4 years ago. I've organized some collective events for donating books and money to children in poor areas in China. It's been a great pleasure for me to work on this project.
Somehow I couldn't really continue cos the organizations who have been helping me took it as a speculation tool for their own good. I don't care whose name's gonna be on the thank you list,cos what I want is just helping those kids get more resources to knowledge and the outside world.
It's a pity that I can't do it properly,but anyway I'll be still doing charity,in some other areas.

I always have great passion for animals since I was really young. So hopefully this will be my new project.
Recently I've been following the bear abuse in China. To my surprise that it's still legal in China to take bile from living bears. People put metal tubes into bears' belly to get bile,and they won't take  them out until they die. Bears are under great pain,they are locked in tiny cages for their entire lives,some bears tried to suicide,so people put a metal cover on their belly to prevent it. A lot of bears are very weak and sick,they all have different kinds of diseases,such as cancer.
The very proud Chinese government has promised a lot of things before the Olympics,including putting an end of this cruel business,so for a short time bear aquaculture has been depressed,but after the Olympics,the public speaker of the concerning department in China declared that there's no detailed deadline for this issue,so then apparently the bear business exploded again.

I believe that all of the creatures in the world share the same right,we are all born free and we're all equal. There's no excuse for human beings to take advantages from other animals in such a cruel way.We all deserve the access to the great and warm sunshine,so I sincerely hope that people can really take actions to stop this kind of animal abuses,no matter if it's legal in China,and Actually the bear aquaculture for getting bile from living bears is only legal in North Korean and China.

How can you help those bears?

If you live in China,
Stop purchasing any production contains bear bile. There's no massacre if there's no business.
please write letters to your government and put more pressure to make this illegal.
(and of course I know it won't be easy,but if there're more people taking actions,I believe we can make a big difference)

Please contact all those animal protecting organizations,let them know that you care,and ask them for help and what you can do to help.
